LE SEL D’ISSEY Eau de Parfum is made in France, vegan certified, and crafted with 94% natural ingredients including seaweed, oak moss, incense and amber accord, plus upcycled cedarwood. The bottle features 20% recycled glass and packaging made with 10% recycled seaweed. The 50ml and 100ml bottles are refillable, reducing up to 60% CO² emissions and fossil resource use compared to buying multiple bottles.
The Intensity Of Salt
LE SEL D’ISSEY Eau de Parfum explores a dynamic dialogue between sea and earth. Created by perfumer Quentin Bisch, the fragrance captures nature’s contrasts—its shifting moods and elemental tension.
The scent opens with marine notes drawn from laminaria seaweed extract and oak moss, echoing the origin of the Eau de Toilette. Oak moss, once a seaweed that adapted to land, brings a sharp, energizing wave enhanced by a unique salty accord.
As the fragrance evolves, the “earth” emerges. The salt accord is deepened with warm, sensual notes of incense, dry amber and burning woods, giving the composition intensity, vibrancy and strength.
The 35-year collaboration between Monsieur Issey Miyake and Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka continues with the design of the LE SEL D’ISSEY bottle. Yoshioka’s minimalist yet powerful aesthetic shapes the bottle’s incense-grey gradient, where light flows through the glass and meets the cap’s metallic reflections. A curved, lens-like base creates a hypnotic optical effect, echoing Issey Miyake’s signature purity and strength.
The outer packaging mirrors this design language with its warm grey tone, textured finish and matte surface—evoking the raw beauty of a salt crystal.
